From farm-grown produce to composting, Six Senses Zighy Bay has achieved the highest Three-Star certification from the Food Made Good Standard

Six Senses Zighy Bay has been awarded the highest possible Three-Star Rating in the 2026 Food Made Good Standard, with an overall score of 89 per cent.

Developed by the Sustainable Restaurant Association (SRA), the Food Made Good Standard is recognised as the world’s leading sustainability certification specifically designed for the hospitality sector.

The assessment evaluates businesses across three core pillars, including Sourcing, Society and Environment, taking an evidence-based approach that encompasses not only food waste but also responsible sourcing, employee wellbeing, community impact and environmental stewardship.

Six Senses Zighy Bay achieved 86 per cent for Sourcing, 90 per cent for Society and 92 per cent for Environment, with particularly strong recognition for its support of local farmers, community engagement and environmental management programmes.

Nestled between the Hajar Mountains and the pristine waters of Oman’s Musandam Peninsula, Six Senses Zighy Bay – in line with the brand’s global ethos – has long championed responsible hospitality. Sustainability is woven throughout the guest experience, from ingredients harvested at the resort’s Organic Farm and garden to immersive experiences at the Earth Lab, marine conservation initiatives and meaningful partnerships with local communities.

Key Achievements

Among the areas highlighted by the Sustainable Restaurant Association were the resort’s commitment to celebrating Oman’s culinary heritage through local sourcing with small-scale local suppliers and produce grown on its own farm in Dibba.

It also recognised the resort’s food waste composting, on-site glass recycling and comprehensive sustainability training for hosts. The report also recognised the resort’s unique approach to guest engagement, which includes farm visits and interactive workshops that encourage guests to connect with the natural world.

Valid until May 2028, the certification reflects Six Senses Zighy Bay’s long-standing commitment to responsible sourcing, environmental stewardship and creating a positive impact.
