Beyond Green, a global portfolio of eco-luxe hotels and resorts built around real sustainability standards, is marking Earth Day and its five-year anniversary with the launch of Impact in Five, a year-long programme to mark its next phase in sustainable travel.
The global network, launched in 2021 by Preferred Travel Group, is using the milestone to relaunch its loyalty programme, the I Prefer Points for Good scheme, which lets travellers donate loyalty points to conservation and community projects.
Under the new programme, members of I Prefer Hotel Rewards can donate points via Beyond Green’s nonprofit partner Wild Impact. Contributions will be matched by the programme, up to one million points, effectively doubling the impact.

Funds raised will support initiatives in the Okavango Delta, including environmental education, climate resilience and community-led conservation programmes. All areas that are increasingly recognised as critical to the long-term sustainability of tourism.
Point donations are accepted in select increments from April 22 until May 31, 2026.Â
From add-on to expectation
The move reflects a broader shift in how travel brands are approaching sustainability. Rather than positioning it as an add-on, there is growing emphasis on integrating impact into the core of the guest experience, from where travellers stay to how they contribute.
‘As we celebrate five years of Beyond Green, we’re honouring a growing global community united by a shared belief: that travel can and should be a catalyst for positive impact,’ said Philipp Weghmann, President, Beyond Green.
‘This milestone reflects the collective commitment of our members and marks the beginning of an ambitious new chapter focused on deeper collaboration, expanded services, and measurable results.’

Since its start, Beyond Green has grown from 24 founding properties into a broader portfolio of hotels, lodges, and resorts that operate under strict sustainability criteria spanning environmental practices, cultural preservation, and community support.
At the same time, Beyond Green has become a comprehensive platform for sustainable travel, bringing together its global portfolio, Beyond Green Hotels, with the advisory expertise of Beyond Green Consulting, and expanding engagement with destinations, partners, and global coalitions to advance responsible tourism worldwide. Â
