Bangkok is set to host one of the world’s most prestigious culinary gatherings this September as the World Gourmet Festival celebrates its 25th anniversary at the Anantara Siam Bangkok Hotel. Running from 22–28 September 2025, the event promises an extraordinary line-up of global talent, including 16 Michelin-starred restaurants representing 22 stars, and, crucially, four Michelin Green Star honourees leading the charge for sustainable gastronomy.
The Green Star, Michelin’s accolade for eco-conscious dining, will shine this year as chefs like Deepanker ‘DK’ Khosla of Haoma (Bangkok) present menus that highlight regenerative farming and closed-loop cooking. They’ll be joined by other sustainability trailblazers who are reshaping fine dining by proving that flavour and responsibility can go hand in hand.

Other highlights of World Gourmet Festival 2025 include seven restaurants ranked on The World’s 50 Best and Asia’s 50 Best lists; and four chefs who have received global accolades, including World’s Best Female Chef, Asia’s Best Female Chef, and Asia’s Best Pastry Chef.
Created by culinary storyteller Kristian Brask Thomsen, festival highlights include once-in-a-lifetime collaborations such as a rare six-hands dinner with Copenhagen’s Eric Vildgaard (Jordnær, three Michelin stars) joining Bangkok’s Mathias and Thomas Sühring (two Michelin stars). Guests can also experience exclusive tasting menus, masterclasses, wine pairings, and a spectacular closing brunch.
Green Chef’s Shine
Each evening, guests are invited to choose from a dynamic programme across Anantara Siam’s celebrated restaurants/
At Shintaro, Bangkok’s intimate Japanese dining room, guests can experience the boundary-pushing cuisine of Jimmy Ophorst, head chef of PRU in Phuket and Thailand’s first Green Star awardee. Ophorst has built his reputation on a ‘Plant. Raise. Understand.‘ philosophy, working with regenerative farming, foraging, and local sourcing to craft elegant menus with the lightest possible footprint.

Meanwhile, at Guilty, the stylish Peruvian-inspired hotspot, Deepanker ‘DK’ Khosla of Haoma in Bangkok takes the stage. Khosla, another Green Star honouree, has become a global voice for closed-loop, zero-waste gastronomy. His restaurant operates its own urban farm, integrating aquaponics and regenerative practices to produce dishes that are both innovative and planet-positive.
