Pixels for the Planet: Global Outdoor Art Exhibition Tackles Plastic Pollution

2 mins

A striking new art exhibition is transforming the streets of New York, London, and The Netherlands into a creative protest against plastic pollution, while helping clean the ocean in the process

This Plastic Free July, a powerful art-meets-activism campaign is turning public spaces into a global call to action. Let’s Live With Less Plastic, an outdoor art exhibition curated by UK-based social enterprise Le Good Society, has taken over high-traffic areas of London, New York’s Times Square, and locations across The Netherlands to raise awareness about plastic pollution.

Running throughout July and into August, the art exhibition features bold and thought-provoking works from international artists including Todd Francis, Jasmina Zornic, Tom Hodgkinson, Craig Keenan, JBOY, and many others. The billboards tackle themes of overconsumption, sustainability, and our fragile relationship with nature.

‘We’re proud to support Plastic Free July this year by bringing this global exhibition to life across London over the weekend of 26–27th July, in Shoreditch, Chelsea and Islington,’ said Jack Fleming of London Lites. ‘Reducing plastic use starts with awareness and action.’

Key highlights of the art exhibition include Todd Francis’s JBOY’s Seafood, a searing critique of modern plastic consumption; and Craig Keenan’s Ocean Garbage, a plastic bag eerily filled with jellyfish.

Beyond awareness, the campaign drives real-world change. From July 22–30, the featured artworks will be auctioned online at sentx.io, with 50–100 per cent of proceeds going to Plastic Bank.

‘This exhibition gives people a tangible and creative way to fight plastic pollution,’ said Tia. ‘When someone buys a digital artwork, they’re literally removing real plastic from the ocean.’

Artist Jasmina Zornic added: ‘This is Web3 for real-world impact. We’re turning pixels into progress—and making impact accessible to everyone.’
