Forget everything you know about vegan food. This January, Punjab Grill, the Michelin-recognised Indian dining destination, is turning Vegan Month on its head with a creative new plant-based menu. Blending aromatic spices of Indian cuisine with plant-based ingredients, the new menu starts at just AED 275 per person.
Punjab Grill is showcasing ingredients that are beloved in India but remain surprisingly underrated in Indian fine dining – think banana stem, yam, and beetroot.
Highlights include the Banana Stem Salad, a fresh combination of banana stem, cucumber, and carrot with tempered spices, the Beetroot Phyllo, Iceberg Wrap, roasted Beetroot baked in phyllo parcels, served with peanut chutney and the Kidney Beans & Herb Skewer Phulka Tacos, which are perfectly charred in the tandoor and topped with green chilli and peanut chutney. To top off dinner, try the Tofu Tikka Masala with Lacchedar Paratha that brings a tandoori tofu tikka paired with a rich onion and bell pepper curry.
Don’t miss the All Spice Carrot Cake Crumble, served with coconut ice cream and orange butterscotch for a sweet finish.
Sandeep Ail, Executive Chef at Punjab Grill, shares, ‘We’ve embraced the global vegan movement, offering innovative dishes featuring banana stem, yam, and beetroot. By combining traditional Indian techniques with superfoods, we’re not only celebrating the health benefits but also breaking free from conventional Indian dishes.’
