If you’re the kind of drinker who prefers your cocktails with a side of sky-high views and sustainable storytelling, GŎNG Bar at Shangri-La The Shard has just unveiled something special.
Perched on the 52nd floor, this sleek spot is serving up a new Nature & Earth cocktail menu inspired by—you guessed it—the humble life cycle of a plant.
From seed to sprout, bloom to harvest, the menu celebrates nature’s stages through bold ingredients, artistic garnishes and a few unexpected twists. There’s Buckwheat, a nutty mix of Japanese whisky, shochu and peach-jasmine soda, finished with hand-moulded fried noodles.
Or Flesh, a firecracker blend of tequila, mezcal, mango and Oriental spices with a dried chilli kick.

Fancy something floral? Try Flower, with champagne, chrysanthemum honey, and gin.
But the star might just be Sugar Cane, which uses fresh-pressed juice from Borough Market (literally across the road) to build a tangy, rum-soaked cocktail. It’s proof that even at 180 metres above the ground, you can still keep it local.
GǑNG’s Invisible Drink
The whole menu is grounded in eco-conscious thinking… One ‘drink’ isn’t a drink at all: The Evergreen is an invisible cocktail where the price funds the planting of a tree in the UK, thanks to GŎNG’s partnership with reforestation initiative Veritree. Sip for the planet? Don’t mind if we do.
The man behind the menu is Julien Casanova, Shangri-La’s Assistant Director of F&B, who says it’s all about reconnecting with nature: ‘This menu is a tribute to nature’s quiet brilliance, a reminder to slow down and appreciate the balance around us.’
With ingredients like galangal, rambutan and matcha also making appearances, it’s a deliciously global take on drinking with depth.
So whether you’re there for the skyline selfies or the conscious sipping, GŎNG’s Nature & Earth menu is definitely worth the ascent.
